Black History Month in America

What does Black History Month mean to you? Do you ask about “White History Month”?

Kim and Dan discuss the state of their nation as February highlights the contributions of Black America, along with the knee-jerk reaction of White Americans to this celebration.

"Conversation without action is just people trying to puff up their own chests.” Kim

“Well what about ‘white history?’ And my answer’s always - all of history is white history. That’s how we’ve written it. As the colonizers, that’s what we did.” Dan

“It does not hurt your, physically, to tell the whole story about our country. What is does is hurt your feelings, because you’ve built your whole identity on being superior to others.” Kim

“And that’s why Black History Month is so important, so we can talk about the fact that our history is checkered with good and bad.” Dan

“I’m not at fault for what happened, but I’m responsible for what’s to come.” Dan
