Lessons in Sexist Chivalry

Kim and Dan discuss an assignment from a Texas high school teaching “chivalry.” The assignment told female students to "obey any reasonable request of a male" and to dress to "please" male students. We know it’s been pulled from the curriculum, but the question remains, is this 2021 or 1921?

“75% of Congress in the Senate is lead by males, 77% in the House.” Kim

“The most beautiful points of the day are often sunrise and sunset. Dusk and dawn. That spectrum of in-between.” Dan

“We judge so quickly, people, based on their clothes.” Dan

“Know better. Do better.” Dan

“Run for your local school board seats.” Kim

“Give more love, more respect, more… whatever. You’re going to get it back tenfold.” Kim

“Sometimes your emotions come out at weird times and when you meet your hero, your body reacts different than you expect.” Kim
